As a (new) Browns fan, I couldn't have been happier with the NFL Draft. A solid pick with Joe Thomas

As a (new) Browns fan, I couldn't have been happier with the NFL Draft. A solid pick with Joe Thomas at No. 5, then a franchise-type QB at No. 22 with Quinn and a very good corner in Round 2 with Eric Wright. I smell 8-9 wins. See that, I'm already an optimistic fan. But it was an interesting first round, to say the least. Cam Cameron made a stellar debut in Miami by drafting "the entire Ginn family." Note to Cameron, that's only a good idea if you need someone to cook soulfood for your team and illegally recruit people to Ohio State. The Dolphins then took it upon themselves to put an insane amount of pressure on BYU's John Beck, who now has to have a better career than Quinn. And don't expect Ted Ginn to give him much help, he'll be an average receiver at best, but maybe he can be Devin Hester. Maybe. The Packers and Chargers however took the biggest reaches in Round 1 drafting Tennessee DE Justin Harrell and LSU WR Craig Davis respectably. The Packers passed on Jarvis Moss for Harrell, which will go down as one of the bigger same-position blunders in recent draft history. pour elle 2008 That prompted the Denver Broncos to immediately get on the horn and trade into the No. 17 slot to take Moss, who as I said earlier, looks like another Jevon Kearse. Davis is a burner, but the Chargers, who have been in dire need of a big-time receiver for a few years now, passed on Dwayne Jarrett, Anthony Gonzalez, Sydney Rice and Steve Smith for Davis, who is a project at best. Then again, pour elle 2008 A.J. Smith has seemed pour elle 2008 to make all the right moves in the past, so perhaps I'll let it slide. The best value pick of the draft was Jarrett, who is much better pour elle 2008 than a second-round pick. He proved himself time and time again that he was the best player on the field in USC's biggest games, which by the way were pretty big games. He'll certainly be better than Ginn. Also, the Raiders picking Louisville running back Michael Bush with the first pick of Day 2 was brilliant. When he heals, he's going to be a stud. The Raiders did, however, ruin JaMarcus Russell for a while by trading away Randy Moss. Didn't they realize that his best attribute is launching the ball down the field, and they had the perfect safety valve for him to do that with? I understand Moss might not be the best "character" guy, but when he's happy on the field, he's OK off it. Russell would have made Moss happy. Now, however, pour elle 2008 I'm pushing Russell over the edge into bust status. I was already trying to figure out who the last true project quarterback that couldn't run was that ended up doing well. I couldn't find him. If you can, let me know. I hope Russell does well, because beyond the competition with Quinn, I think he's a really good kid. But Oakland hasn't put him a position to succeed. As for the other end of that Moss deal, the Patriots are probably going to be pretty good next year. In fact, if they don't win the Super Bowl, I want everyone to stop blowing Bill Belichek pour elle 2008 immediately. Outside of Russell, I already see a few players pour elle 2008 that will eventually have bust status. First and foremost is Gaines Adams. If I were still a Lions fan, I would be happy they didn't end up with Adams. His knocks are that he takes plays off and he's not incredibly strong coming off the edge. That doesn't bode well. Ginn, well, I already covered that one. If a punt returner is what you need, then I suppose it's alright. But at No. 9? Really? I'm also not high on Jamaal Anderson who went to the Falcons. Maybe they got confused . Then again, I thought pour elle 2008 Quinn should go Top 5. I think his slip will help him in the long run. Sure, he not only lost early first-round money and still fell to a bad team, but he has plenty of money from endorsements, so I wouldn't worry about that. It definitely was a humbling experience, which Quinn needed after going around the country proclaiming he should be No. 1. I didn't say anything, but that kind of rubbed me the wrong way. But now he gets to have extra motivation and lead his hometown team. I think he and the Browns will be fine, because I think using your next year's No. 1 pick on Quinn is a good move. As for the Lions, I think Calvin pour elle 2008 Johnson is going to be great, but I don't necessarily know if the Lions will be. If Drew Stanton eventually becomes what I think he's capable of becoming, then things might work out, but the Lions have too many holes to fill to be making all these flashy picks. At some point, Millen has to start building a team, not a stable of potential superstars. And God knows he'll have time, because somehow, he has more job security than anyone in football.
If draft day was the lions superbowl, they dropped yet another pour elle 2008 turd (with the Calvin pour elle 2008 Johnson exception). I like Stanton alot, but he or another decent QB wld have been available later in the draft when they sld have cleaned up on excellent defenders they desperately needed in round 2. Now they have two backups without any game experience and a shitty starting pour elle 2008 QB, and the same shaky defense wi
